The Royal Box at Wimbledon has been attracting dozens of royals and stars at this year's Wimbledon, and on Thursday, fans were doing a double take as Sir Nick Clegg took his seat.
The former politician, who served as Deputy Prime Minister between 2010 and 2015, looked so different from the days when he was seen standing alongside David Cameron. The 59-year-old rocked a cool pair of sunglasses as he was seen speaking with former tennis icon, Ann Jones.
The former MP, who represented Sheffield Hallam between 2005 and 2017, was also seen with a thinning hairline as he interacted with the 87-year-old tennis star.
His appearance at the royal box meant that he was able to join the likes of the Princess of Wales, Andy Murray and Ellie Goulding.
Who is Nick Clegg?
Nick Clegg is a former Liberal Democrat politician, who served as an MP between 2005 and 2017 and an MEP between 1999 and 2004.
He was elected to the House of Commons for the constituency of Sheffield Hallam, succeeding veteran Lib Dem politician, Richard Allan. He held the seat, even during the 2015 general election, which saw the party nearly wiped out nationally. However, in the 2017 snap election, Nick lost his seat to Labour's Jared O'Mara.
In 2007, he was elected as Leader of the Liberal Democrats, succeeding Menzies Campbell. During his time at the helm of the party, he agreed to enter a coalition with David Cameron's Conservative Party after the 2010 general election left a hung parliament.
However, the Liberal Democrats quickly plummeted in popularity, with them backing a rise in tuition fees, despite previously pledging to oppose any such move. The decision led to Nick releasing an apology video, which was widely spoofed at the time.
After losing his parliamentary seat, he moved to the United States, where he became the vice‑president of global affairs and communications at Facebook. In 2022, he became president of global affairs; however, in 2025, he resigned from this role.
In 2000, he married Miriam González Durántez, and the pair share three children. In 2017, months after losing his seat, Nick and Miriam appeared on Lorraine to speak about their 14-year-old son, Antonio's cancer diagnosis.
Miriam revealed that they initially took their son to the doctor after spotting "a very, very small lump" on his neck. "We took him to the GP anyway, which was a stroke of luck really, because immediately he spotted it could be something more serious, and it was lymphoma," she explained.
Nick then recalled the moment he was told his son had cancer. "Well, it's like a sort of 'word bomb', isn't it?" he said. "Certainly, if you are unfamiliar with it, as we were, and your initial reaction, I think, we found, was like any mum and dad, it's irrational, but you just have this almost physical wish to try and take it off your kid and take it yourself. And then very quickly you get into the pretty gory details of the treatment."
