Mathilde Favier was tragically killed in a car accident on Monday while travelling with her partner, Nicolas Altmayer.
Just hours before her death, Mathilde shared a post hinting that she was about to enter a new chapter of her life. The 57-year-old said: "Chapitre 2," alongside a series of emojis that usually accompany a holiday post, including the sun, sunflowers, sailing and an anchor.
Mathilde shared a stunning set of photos in her carousel, including a sunset over the beach, gorgeous summer spreads and the PR executive and her family having a go at carriage driving with donkeys.
The post also saw her enjoying peaceful moments with her family before her tragic passing.
The post has since been inundated with tributes to Mathilde, with one reading: "My deepest condolences. Dear Mathilde, it was always a pleasure to meet you, always with that big smile and so much love."
A second commented: "We will always miss you and remember you, thank you for everything," while Helena Christensen posted: "Mathilde, you beautiful ray of light, you will be the chicest most joyous spirit, forever."
What happened to Mathilde Favier?
Mathilde and her partner, French film producer Nicolas Altmayer died in a car accident in France on 17 August.
Nicolas Leclainche, the deputy prosecutor for the Niort prosecutor's office told the AFP that the couple's car "hit a heavy goods vehicle traveling in the opposite direction while they were overtaking another vehicle". An involuntary manslaughter investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the crash.
Among those who have paid tribute to Mathilde since her death was her daughter, Heloise Agostinelli. "I have no words to describe the pain I am in," she wrote. "My mom was my entire world. My life ended the day she took her last breath. I thank you all for your beautiful and heartfelt messages. I feel too weak and overwhelmed to respond to everyone.
"I'm hoping this is just a bad dream and I will wake up soon. Life is violent and unfair. Je t'aime ma maman, ma moon, ma vie entière. Resposes en paix mon ange éternel."
Heloise also shared the final text messages that she shared with her mum, where they spoke about their love for one another.
