Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum used to travel everywhere with a bag of her baby teeth, which were collected by her mother over the years. "I carry around a little bag of my teeth," she said on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 1998.

"We don't have a tooth fairy [in Germany], so I put them in a little bag. Little ones, big ones…wisdom ones. I don't know if it's good luck, it's just a crazy thing that I do."

Heidi later shared on I've Got News For You that while she doesn't carry the bag around anymore, it did act as a good luck charm during her early days in the modelling industry.

"When I was young, and I was travelling everywhere, and I was always by myself, because when you’re a model you go from one job to the next so it’s just your suitcase and your little handbag and that’s it and then you hop around all on your own. For me, this was kind of like my good luck charm,” she said.

The Friends star had a specific ritual she would follow when stepping onto a plane, in order to feel safe and secure: tapping the outside of the plane with her right hand and stepping onto the plane with her right foot first.

"I have an extreme fear of flying," she told Travel + Leisure, before adding that she was working on overcoming that phobia.

"I have been doing some hypnosis lately, and one of the requirements is to remove all of those superstitions," she explained. "I have not been doing the right hand, right foot – and now it's shockingly good!"

Serena Williams

It comes as no surprise that Serena Williams is highly superstitious, as most athletes often are. However, even the tennis legend admitted that her superstitions had gotten out of hand.

"I have too many superstitious rituals, and it's annoying. It's like I have to do it, and if I don't, then I'll lose," she told The Standard.

"And I'm not losing because I didn't play well, I lost because I didn't tie my shoe the right way, and it's totally ridiculous because I have to use the same shower, I have to use the same sandals, I have to travel with the same bags."

Serena shared with the publication that she even had to bounce the ball five times before the first serve to ease her nerves.

Another nervous flier is Megan Fox, who shared on Conan in 2009 that listening to Britney Spears during her flight helped to quell her anxiety.

"All of a sudden, I got really afraid to get on aeroplanes. I had to come up with a way to deal with it because I didn't want to have panic attacks every time I got on a plane," she said in the interview.

"I know for a fact it's not in my destiny to die listening to a Britney Spears album. So, I always put that on in my headphones when I'm flying because I know it won't crash if I've got Britney on."

Megan expanded on this during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, saying that she flew so frequently she was "pushing the statistics".

"That's where the fear came from. It's like, [if] you fly twice a year, you're good, but not if you're flying twice a week... Even if you hit turbulence and you're like, 'I don't like how this feels,' I would throw on certain music that I just knew I wasn't gonna die to," Megan explained. "For me, that was Britney Spears, like, the archives, the 'Oops' album."

"That's not the soundtrack to my death. That always made me feel better. You're not gonna meet God on an, 'Oh baby, baby' and then you're dead and know all the mysteries to the universe."

The Coldplay frontman has an array of rituals he must perform before going onstage, as he told the Herald Sun.

"For me, there are about 18 things I have to do before I can go out to perform – most of them are too ridiculous to repeat. One is I have to brush my teeth before I go on stage, otherwise I just don't feel smart."

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has always banked on the number 13 as her lucky number, and will often release new updates, songs and albums on dates associated with 13. "I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th," she explained on The Jay Leno Show.

"My first album, Taylor Swift, went gold in 13 weeks. My first number one song had a 13-second intro. Every time I've won an award, I've been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter. Basically, whenever a 13 comes up in my life, it's a good thing."

Ben Stiller might be the biggest New York Knicks fan of all time – so much so that when the team lost to the San Antonio Spurs in 2026 during the NBA Finals, he burned his clothes to get rid of any bad luck.

"My wife Christine and I came home after the last game and burned the clothes we were wearing," he said on ESPN's NBA Tip-Off. "I'm never wearing that stupid finals shirt that I was wearing; that was awful, and the jeans. She had some bracelets that got thrown away. You wipe it clean."

He added that there were other pieces of clothing he kept as the team "had good games with them". The Knicks went on to win the final for the first time in 53 years.

Much like Jennifer Aniston, the Game of Thrones star struggles with flight anxiety and has his own ritual to feel safe when stepping on a plane.

"Every time I get on a plane, I have to touch the outside of the plane three times before I get in," he told Condé Nast Traveller.

"I am [a nervous flier]. I've gotten worse, actually. I used to love it, but now I imagine being 30,000 feet in the air. Each time I fly, it feels more unnatural. I get more jittery... It's bizarre."
