Dame Kristin Scott Thomas is one of the nation's most beloved actors. Best known for playing the witty, lovelorn Fiona in Richard Curtis' hit rom-com Four Weddings and a Funeral and, of course, as the formidable spymaster Diana Taverner in Apple TV's acclaimed thriller Slow Horses, the 66-year-old boasts an impressive four-decade career.
But while she's been a regular fixture on our screens for years, how much do you know about Kristin's family life? Find out all about her famous husband and actress sister below.
Meet Kristin Scott Thomas' husband
Kristin is married to John Micklethwait, the former editor of The Economist and now editor-in-chief of Bloomberg News.
On finding love with John, the BAFTA winner recently told The Telegraph: "I think I was perfectly happy before, but not this happy. My husband is not the cure to anything [I've been through], but he is a man with whom I can talk about anything, who is inspiring and clever."
The couple began dating in 2019 and now live together in West London, having tied the knot in a quiet ceremony in Rutland in September 2024.
Lifting the lid on her private nuptials, the actress previously told Ruthie's Table 4 podcast: "We had coronation chicken. It was a treat. It was absolutely delicious."
The Four Weddings and a Funeral actor also revealed an incredibly sentimental gift she received from her sister on her big day.
"[My sister] got all the family recipes that my mother had collected, from my great grandmother in Scotland, to my other grandmothers all over the place, on both sides of the family. She scanned them and made them into a book for me."
Kristin Scott Thomas' first marriage and three children
Prior to her relationship with John, Kristin was married to French obstetrician and gynaecologist, François Olivennes, from 1987 to 2005. They have three children together, Hannah, 38, Joseph, 35, and George, 26.
Kristin's oldest son Joseph is also an actor. His credits include the 2024 Apple TV drama, The New Look.
Kristin Scott Thomas' lookalike sister
Kristin is the eldest of four siblings. While her two brothers remain out of the public eye, her sister Serena is also an actress.
Serena, 65, is perhaps best known for playing Princess Diana in the 1993 biographical drama film, Diana: Her True Story, in which she starred opposite David Threlfall as Prince Charles.
Her other film credits include The World Is Not Enough (1999), Hostage (2005) and Inherent Vice (2014). She's also made guest appearances in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, NCIS, and Nip/Tuck.
