Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner raised the bar as they walked for Chanel during Paris Fashion Week. The models and close friends were parading Karl Lagerfeld's autumn/winter ready-to-wear collection on Monday.

The Grand Palais served as the majestic setting for Chanel's show, and in keeping with the brand's forward-thinking approach, the venue was transformed into a Coco Chanel-themed restaurant, Brasserie Gabrielle.

Famous faces included Anna Wintour and Mario Testino who were given the best seats in the house, occupying the brasserie-style booths and enjoying a clear view of the show. Other guests were seated in rows behind them.

Cara, who opened and closed the show, flaunted her playful side as she gave a twirl around the bar. The London native wore a sheer floaty black dress that featured studded metallic buttons down the front.

The 22-year-old model, who has been walking for Chanel for years, accessorised with a thick collar necklace and matching cuffs.

Her good friend Kendall debuted a similar look, walking alongside her at one point in the show in a black transparent dress with covered shoulders. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star had the support of her "momager" Kris Jenner in the audience.

Both Cara and Kendall had their hair slicked back in clean styles and sported heavy, Goth-like eye make-up.

At the end of the show, the pair took their places at the bar while other models sat dotted around the central tables reading Chanel-branded newspapers. Karl Lagerfeld walked out to the sounds of applause, oozing confidence in his trademark black shades.

It was time to relax and mingle after the show, with guests invited to take over the catwalk and enjoy coffee and pastries at the bar.

Cara and Kendall chatted with their fellow models, including French heart-throb Baptiste Giabiconi who played the handsome barman. The pair leant across the bar and each gave him a kiss on the cheek, and later sipped on cocktails he had poured out.

Cara and Kendall caused a stir in front of the cameras, striking amusing poses and playing with a miniature Coco Chanel doll they had pulled out for entertainment.

The duo, who are used to turning heads on the catwalk, had recently come from London Fashion Week, where they joined Topshop owner Sir Philip Green at his event on the front row.
