It's been a busy weekend for Lady Louise Windsor, who was spotted at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. The popular royal has frequented the show many times over the years. Event director Jo Peck, who has met Lady Louise several times, described her as a "gentle soul", "bright as a button", and "very, very keen" on her carriage driving.
On Friday, the daughter of Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie delighted royal fans with her outdoor attire. The blonde royal donned practical brown boots, a checked maxi skirt, and a stylish white coat. If you look closely, though, you can see she also sported a Fair Isle jumper, which is designed by the royally loved label, Holland Cooper.
What's more, Louise's royal relative, the Princess of Wales, has this very same style, and she's worn it on countless occasions.
Princess Kate's stylish knit
In February 2022, the mother of three memorably read the classic children's bedtime story, The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark, on CBeebies and wore the delightful knit for the occasion. Kate also sported the jumper during a surprise appearance ahead of her 'Together at Christmas' carol concert a year later in 2023.
The Nordic item featured an eye-catching embroidered trim on the neckline and sleeves, as well as statement gold buttons. It's become a hero piece in the brand's collection; you can still purchase it today.
Given that the royal family is famously thrifty with their clothes and often shares various pieces amongst themselves, it's possible that Kate may have lent the design to Louise. After all, Kate has become the poster girl for outfit repeating and incorporating durable, timeless buys into her outfits, year after year. It's worth noting that Kate and fellow royal Zara Tindall are both big fans of this and always ensure their children's clothes are passed down to their siblings.
Lady Louise has also been known to borrow items from her mother, the Duchess of Edinburgh's wardrobe, too. This sends a powerful, sustainable message to the world.
Jen Graham, a charity shopper who has presented second-hand fashion segments on This Morning, agrees. "When even the royals rewear, relove, and reshare, it sends the strongest message that sustainability is the future of fashion," she said.
