Lady Kitty Spencer has always had an impressive sense of style, and the mother-of-one perfectly showcased this notion on Sunday afternoon as she shared a beautiful image of herself, sporting the most elegant dress.

The blonde beauty, who is the late Princess Diana's niece, wore a delightful number that was designed in a sumptuous lemon shade, adorned with a pretty floral print. It also had a vintage, sailor-style collar and was finished with a contrasting black ribbon, artfully tied in a bow.

The sailor collar is distinctive; it circles the neck before framing a deep V-neck at the front of a garment. Although it was a notable style in the 1900s, in recent years it's experienced a fashion revival thanks to Kitty's late aunt, Princess Diana, who embraced the trend in the '80s, sporting a plethora of dresses featuring the vintage statement style.

In fact, she wore a similar neckline in 1989. A known lover of the humble polka dot, the former wife of King Charles looked resplendent in this blue and white Catherine Walker dress with a white collar at an event at Bayan Palace in Kuwait.

Kitty's subtle take on the collar has modernised the look and shows that there is always a place for timeless detail when it comes to regal style.

Kitty on Diana

Kitty, who is married to businessman Michael Lewis, was just six years old when Diana passed away.

Previously speaking to our sister title, HELLO! Fashion, she touched on her late aunt's influence in the fashion industry. "I think she’s iconic, and I suppose it’s such a wonderful thing that her fashion influence is still enduring today. She was a great ambassador for British fashion."

Kitty said her late aunt was an "icon"

The 35-year-old also discussed her fashion ethos. "I think the best thing about fashion and style is taking the bits that suit you and playing with them, rather than conforming to whatever the trends are," she mused. "I dress for my shape, and I like anything that goes in at the waist. I make sure my clothes are nicely tailored and classic but still feminine – I don’t like anything too fussy," she said.
