The Duchess of Edinburgh battled soaring temperatures on Tuesday in one of her boldest summer dresses to date.
As temperatures skyrocket across the UK this week, Sophie travelled to Jersey for a two-day visit with a heatwave-approved wardrobe. The royal arrived for a reception at Government House on 23 June wearing a lightweight midi dress with voluminous boho sleeves in a vibrant blue hue.
The eye-catching dress featured a colourful floral print all over with a V neckline and straight skirt, which draped to her ankles. Sophie complemented her summer look with metallic wedge sandals from Jimmy Choo, as identified by Royal Fashion Police on Instagram. The Duchess had her hair swept up while combating the heat and wore Sting sunglasses in several sun-soaked photos from the outing.
Sophie was dripping in gold jewelry, including flower-shaped earrings from Giulia Barela and the £3.5k 'Wooland Single Oak Leaf Bracelet in 18K Yellow Gold with Diamonds' bracelet from Asprey.
A second heatwave-approved dress
The sun was out again for Sophie's second day in Jersey on Wednesday, with temperatures expected to reach up to 28 degrees. Sophie slipped into a floaty pink sundress that appeared to be the 'Tara' dress by Lexy London, which retails for £235.
The breathable midi dress featured puff mid-length sleeves and a drawstring at the waist for a flattering silhouette. The royal complemented her dress with her metallic heeled sandals and wore sunglasses on her head in case she needed to block out the sunrays.
The Duchess wore the summer dress while out visiting Eyecan, a Jersey charity focused on supporting Islanders with sight impairment. During her visit, she met a guide dog, tried on Ray-Ban Meta glasses, made paper roses and used a cane while wearing glasses that replicate cataracts.
Day on the water
The royal also visited Jersey's Les Ecréhous on Tuesday, where she spent time learning about sustainable food production and environmental care.
Sophie met with locals and students who were cooking seafood dishes as part of the Fish in Schools programme. She later boarded a fishing boat at St Catherine's Breakwater and put on a life vest, sunglasses, and a sun-safe cap while out on the water.
Sophie was dressed for the heat in a floral blouse with mid-length sleeves by British heritage brand Penelope Chilvers, as identified by Royal British Fashion on Instagram. The Duchess opted for comfort on her busy day in a pair of platform espadrille slip-ons by Toms.
