Duchess Sophie's busy life as a working royal rarely stops. After making a stylish appearance at Trooping the Colour 2026, in which she wore a fabulous off-white Roland Mouret gown, the mother-of-two was pictured at the annual Order of the Garter service on Monday afternoon, which was held at Windsor Castle.
Sophie joined other senior members of the royal family at this yearly event, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Sophie looked as resplendent as ever in her formal attire, which consisted of a fabulous new dress by one of her favourite brands, Suzannah London. Known as the 'Gabriella', the design featured a striking floral print and was crafted in a beautiful printed Italian silk crepe. Her blonde mane was teased into a pretty up-do, and subtle makeup gave her beauty look a flawless finish.
What is The Order of the Garter?
The Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain, established by King Edward III nearly 700 years ago. The Order includes the King, who is Sovereign of the Garter, the Queen, several members of the royal family, and up to 24 companions chosen in recognition of their work. Companions of the Garter are chosen personally by the Sovereign to honour those who have held public office, who have contributed in a particular way to national life, or who have served the Sovereign personally.
Duchess Sophie's best Order of the Garter outfits
Sophie, who turned 61 in January, often wears outfits that are bright and bold at public events, and in 2019, she arrived at St George's Chapel wearing a sophisticated Suzannah dress that boasted a sleek, white, long-sleeve top and a 50s-style skirt made in vibrant coral silk. She added suede court shoes and a daring disc hat by Jane Taylor, which had coordinating coral detail.
In 2022, Sophie delighted onlookers in a striking pink dress, which was a past-season buy from Valentino. We loved the close-fitting shape and the dazzling fluted sleeves, which gave the frock a true statement feel. Sophie opted for a classically chic up-do and added a nude fascinator.
In 2024, the duchess opted for a Zimmermann ensemble.
The royal wore the brand's 'Matchmaker' floral linen and silk midi dress, which featured a coral hibiscus print. Astoundingly, a mere 48 hours later, Princess Beatrice arrived on day two of Royal Ascot, wearing the same style! Great minds do think alike...
