When the summer months unfold, the wedding invitations start arriving, and it can be quite the task to decide what to wear.

A great place to start is to check out the archives of some of the world's most stylish people. Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Princess of Wales, is known for her impeccable taste and slightly more daring choices than her royal relative.

In 2014, Pippa attended the wedding of her good friends Charlie Gilkes and Anneke von Trotha Taylor in Monopoli, Italy.

At the time, she was dating Nico Jackson, who accompanied her to the nuptials. We adored Pippa's bold dress by UK brand Tabitha Webb, which featured a close-fitting bodice and a V-neck top in a standout, fuchsia pink shade, and a maxi flowing skirt in a coordinating deep purple tone.

Making sure her dress was centre stage, she added a pretty statement necklace and metallic clutch bag.

Wedding guest style rules can be a little hazy, as personal preference often overrides all. Some people dislike bold, eye-catching colours, citing them as a fashion gamble, as they feel they can take the spotlight away from the bride. Provided you steer clear of fluorescent neon tones that risk drawing eyes away from the bride, Pippa's approach to colorblocking proves that vibrant hues can look breathtaking in photographs.

In 2011, mere months before her sister's royal wedding to Prince William, Pippa headed to Katie Percy and Patrick Valentine's nuptials. Arriving at St Michael's Church in Alnwick, Northumberland, the brunette beauty opted to don a pink lace mini dress.

Keeping out the cold, she added a Y2K military-style black jacket, as well as towering high heels.

A year later, in 2012, Pippa wore a cranberry-red version of her sister Kate's iconic royal blue dress by Issa at the wedding of Camilla Hook and Sam Holland, the grandson of Lord Attenborough.

The nuptials took place in Aberlady, East Lothian, Scotland. Pippa added a floral fascinator in the same rouge tone and black high heels. The striking wrap dress featured a pleated front, flared skirt, and delicately ruched waist ties. With a price tag of £430 at the time, the dress quickly became an iconic item after big sister Kate wore it.
