The Princess of Wales was all smiles as she joined the royal family for a church service in Balmoral following the news of her brother-in-law Prince Harry's return to the UK.

Kate was pictured arriving by car alongside her husband, Prince William, and their three children to attend a Sunday service at Crathie Kirk, near where the royals have retreated from the limelight to spend their annual summer break at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire. The Princess of Wales sat in the passenger seat beside her husband, who was behind the steering wheel while their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, sat in the backseat.

Kate, who was beaming upon arrival, looked effortlessly elegant for the family gathering in a tailored tweed jacket with a high-neck white collar shirt underneath. She complemented the country chic look with a pair of brilliant teardrop earrings and a structured brown hat with a bow, which she wore atop her highlighted tresses.

The Princess of Wales' honey-blonde hair looked ever so glamorous worn down in a cascade of waves. The royal went for a polished and natural makeup look with rosy cheeks.

The royal family step out in Balmoral

The Waleses were in the second car behind King Charles, who resurfaced for the first time following the news of his son Harry's upcoming return to the UK this month. Charles was photographed arriving in the back of the vehicle on 23 August alongside his wife Queen Camilla for the church service as troops from Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland, provided a guard of honour.

Princess Anne and her husband Sir Tim Laurence as well as Prince Edward and his daughter Lady Louise were also seen arriving in a car for the family gathering.
