Zara Tindall cut a casual figure on Friday in the most relaxed, off-duty look.

The royal enjoyed a day out at the Defender Burghley Horse Trials in Lincolnshire on 4 September, looking laid-back in a flattering pair of skinny jeans and no makeup. Zara, who is an accomplished equestrian, is a regular attendee and competitor at the horse trials in Burghley, which ran from 3 to 6 September this year.

Zara was bundled up in a windbreaker and pair of blue denim jeans, which she paired with white sneakers. The royal swept her shoulder-length blonde hair back in a ponytail beneath a cap for the outing and kept a natural, bare-faced appearance as she was pictured walking around the grounds and being interviewed.

Appearing in a video posted by Burghley Horse Trials, Zara imparted some words of wisdom for the competitors on Saturday: "Ride it like you stole it," she said.

Last month, Zara was back in the saddle for the Hartpury International Horse Trials and the British Championships, which saw her claim her first major championship in nearly 20 years. The royal won the British Open Championship and took home the NAF CCI4*-S title, winning a prize pot of £5,000.

Family day out

Zara was joined at the horse trials on 4 September by her brother, Peter Philips, and her new sister-in-law, Harriet Phillips. Newlyweds Peter and Harriet, who tied the knot in June in a Cotswolds wedding attended by the royal family, looked loved up as they enjoyed a countryside date in Lincolnshire.

Harriet looked lovely for the occasion in a vibrant floral top from Boden, which she paired with wide-leg pants from WIGGY KIT and cross strap shoes from Penelope Chilvers. She wore her hair down in loose, natural waves past her shoulders.

Peter was dressed in a cap and a fleece gilet over a checkered long-sleeve shirt, which he wore with jeans and boots.

While Zara has proved she can nail the casual off-duty look, she also knows how to glam up for a day at the races. The royal has regularly attended events such as Royal Ascot and the Cheltenham Festival, where she previously revealed her top style tips for in an interview with HELLO!.

"Choose a classic, tailored outfit, but make sure to incorporate layers and weather-appropriate accessories. For me, it’s about what works and feels good to wear. For events where I have to get more dressed up, I work with an amazing stylist who's brilliant at finding pieces that reflect the type of event it is," she told us.
