Friends beauty Jennifer Aniston and Hollywood heart-throb Brad Pitt are said to be “ecstatic” over the news that she’s pregnant.
“Her pregnancy is the talk of the studio,” says one insider on the lot where her sitcom is taped. “There’s no filming going on right now, but the place is buzzing because she’s said she wants to carry on working right up to the birth.”
“She’s told her co-stars and studio executives that while she can’t wait to be a mom, she also wants to do the professional thing and keep the show rolling,” a source close to the star told the UK tabloid Daily Express.
How the producers of Friends will deal with Jennifer’s expanding waistline remains a mystery. Insiders say the 32-year-old actress wants Brad to co-star in a one-off episode as the father of her child, who then does a runner. However, studio executives are concerned at having to pay Brad’s movie-star salary, and are keen to have Chandler’s cross-dressing dad – played by Kathleen Turner – to serve as the proud papa.
“Nothing has been resolved because of the break in filming,” reports one source. “Right now, Jen is too busy celebrating to put her foot down over Brad appearing.”
The news of Jennifer’s pregnancy must be particularly poignant for her Friends co-star Courteney Cox, who is said to have suffered a miscarriage. She was reportedly two months pregnant, however, insiders say she’s now lost the baby. Courtney and her husband, actor David Arquette, met on the set of Scream and married in 1999.
