Daniel Craig is one of Hollywood's leading men, which makes news of his latest, decidedly understated role all the more surprising. This week, Simon Pegg accidentally let it slip that the 007 star is set to make an appearance in the new Star Wars movie – as a Stormtrooper.
Simon was being quizzed about his rumoured role in the highly-anticipated sci-fi film, when he told the Sun: "I wasn't a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper." He quickly retracted his comments, saying, "I shouldn't have said that", but the cat was out the bag.

Daniel Craig has a secret - and surprising - role in the new Star Wars film
The Skyfall actor had been rumoured to have a small role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but until now his part had been shrouded in secrecy. An insider said: "Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role – and was happy to have his name left off the posters.
"Fans will love trying to work out which covered-up character is him."
Meanwhile, Daniel recently resumed filming on the upcoming James Bond movie Spectre after emergency surgery on his knee. The 47-year-old actor was seen arriving back in London three weeks ago to shoot more scenes for the Sam Mendes-directed action adventure, and seemed to have made a full recovery as he exited Heathrow Airport.
Daniel Craig will reprise his role as James Bond in Spectre
It's thought that the star sustained his injury while performing a stunt for the movie; Daniel recently told Jimmy Kimmel that he tries to do as many of the action scenes as he can. "I like the fact that occasionally you'll see on screen that it's my face and it's me," he said. "And I think audiences hopefully appreciate that."
The hugely-anticipated film, which marks Daniel's fourth outing as Bond, is scheduled for release in November. Spectre also stars Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris as Moneypenny.
