It looks like there will be some familiar faces on the judging panel when The X Factor returns to TV screens later this year. Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne are set to join Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh for the 2016 series, according to the Daily Mail.
Both ladies have previously appeared on the talent show, and proved to be a big hit with viewers. Feisty Sharon, 63, served as a judge from 2004 until 2007, and returned again in 2013, appearing on the panel alongside Nicole, who took part in both the ninth and tenth series.
Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne look set to return to The X Factor
The news comes just one day after Rita Ora confirmed she was leaving The X Factor. Taking to Twitter she told fans: "I had a ball on @TheXFactor last year and will miss the team."
She added: "@SimonCowell can't wait to work with you again… I'll be round for dinner soon. Thank you for the experience & love x."
A source close to Nicole told the newspaper: "Rita had been in discussions (to return) but it became apparent she was no longer the automatic top option.
Simon Cowell is the only remaining judge from last year's series
"Nicole was a huge success when she was on The X Factor a few years ago and has long been a part of The X Factor family. She provided fun and entertainment and a huge personality to the show. She is the definite favourite to get the seat next to Simon."
The X Factor has undergone a huge shake-up this year; Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nick Grimshaw and Rita have all left the show leaving Simon as the only remaining judge from the last season.
Hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack have also stepped down, and will be replaced by returning presenter Dermot O'Leary.
