Ed thanked Katya for her help
The couple found themselves in the bottom two this week with Judge Rinder and his dance partner, Oksana Platero. As a result, the pair had to take part in the dread Dance Off, where Ed and Katya performed their Tango to (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones while Judge Rinder and Oksana performed their Rumba to Lean on Me by Bill Withers.
Ed and Katya were unanimously voted off by the judges, all of whom opted to save Judge Rinder and Oksana instead. Craig Revel Horwood said: "On a more technical performance I would like to save Judge Rinder and Oksana," while Darcey Bussell agreed, explaining: "The couple I would like to save just on their better technical ability is Judge Rinder and Oksana." Bruno Tonioli sealed the couples' fate, saying: "Well I have to choose the better dancers. Judge Rinder and Oksana." Head judge Len Goodman simply said "I agree with my colleagues."
The couple danced to stay in the competition
The politician spoke fondly of his time on the show, and thanked his dance partner Katya for all of her help. "If people watching have had half the fun I've had learning to dance with Katya then they must have had a complete blast because it's been such a fabulous thing," she said happily. "The judges, all the supporters, the make-up team, the wardrobe, in particular that band are the best in the world. It's just wonderful. But above all the only reason we have been able to learn and to entertain is because of Katya, and it's her first series. She is going to go on to be a total dynamite, knock-out Strictly star, she is just the best there is. Absolutely amazing. She is utterly brilliant. And to all the people who have kept me in this long, thank you very much I'm very grateful, I've had a wonderful time."
His dance partner also thanked Ed for her experience, saying: "There is so much I would like to say to you. I absolutely love this man, it's my first series and I couldn't have wished for better."
