Ralf Little has opened up about how he really felt about filming the new series of Death in Paradise for two-and-a-half months in the Caribbean. Chatting to HELLO!, he admitted that his family and friends were "jealous" of his new gig, and for good reason since he "just loved it". He explained: "I think – admittedly I was there for two and a half months and everyone else was there for five – so maybe by month four maybe people are like, 'Okay, maybe we're a little tired now,' so I think I started to annoy everyone with my relentless positivity. Every day I turned up saying, 'This is brilliant isn't it?' and they'd be like, 'Stop being so chirpy, we're all knackered.'"

He continued: "I loved it, I just loved it. I had no cynicism over the whole thing. It was everything I hoped and dreamed it would be." Ralf previously starred in an episode of the crime show back in 2013, which he revealed gave him a good idea of what to expect.

The actor said: "I don't think it hurt that I already experienced it – I knew what to expect, the climate, the logistics – it's not an easy place to get to… because it's French Caribbean. Just knowing what to expect, what the town looked like, how scheduling worked, all of those little things from having done it previously. I just had a great time. Yeah it was challenging, it was hot and you get through it."

The 40-year-old revealed to the Mirror that his fiancé, playwright and screenwriter Lindsey Ferrentino, also visited him during filming, explaining: "She came out to Guadeloupe for a month while I was filming and she wrote three films out there. She’s doing annoyingly well. If we were ever going to be a power couple I’d have to seriously up my game. Her career is exploding in a way that makes me both incredibly proud, and obscenely jealous."
