A bevy of feline beauties sashayed up the red carpet in Los Angeles on Monday when Catwoman purred into Tinseltown. The movie's two leading ladies, Halle Berry and Sharon Stone, both set the flashbulbs blazing at the glitzy premiere.

In the film Halle plays the title role, while Sharon is arch-villain Laurel Hedare. But despite being sworn enemies in the flick, neither of the two performers had their claws out at the screening. Indeed they seemed to be the best of friends, standing arm-in-arm to explain that their new collaboration was all about female camaraderie.

"I think that we are two women who chose to be together and two women who chose to respect and admire each other and play together," said Sharon. "I think both of us go out in the world and stand up for women."

Halle meanwhile argued that her role is the ultimate expression of girl power. "It’s about a woman finding her sense of self, her inner strength, her power and becoming okay with her sexuality," affirmed the 37-year-old. "I think every woman, deep down, would love to feel the way Catwoman gets to feel in this movie. I think we are always searching to be our true, authentic selves and not make excuses or apologies for that."

Also turning heads at the event were British chart-toppers Mis-Teeq, Venus Williams and Lee Meriwether, who played Catwoman in the 1960s series of Batman.
