Shirley Ballas shares details on Strictly’s 2023 celeb line-up - and dream royal contestant

The star also has a royal in mind to join the show

Shirley Ballas has opened up about the new series of Strictly Come Dancing after confirming that she would be returning as the head judge - and it sounds seriously exciting!

The dancing expert revealed that the BBC are “outside the box” with the 2023 line-up. While not mentioning any names, joking to Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls that she wasn’t able to divulge any information on celebrities, she did say: “I will tell you, just when you think it can’t get any better, it does!

“The BBC are way outside the box and they’re putting on the show of a lifetime.” 

She added that she would love Zara Tindall to take part in the 2023 series, saying: “I would love Zara Tindall on! And I’d have you both back any day.”

During the show, the star also opened up about the rumours that there were arguments about wages, explaining: “First of all, I can clarify there was arguing with the BBC over pay. We’re in a living crisis where finances in different homes are very very difficult.

“It’s not true. And no arguing! It is what it is. We’re going through a crisis… I don’t know where the information comes from but it’s not true. I don’t know where people leak things from, where people get information from.”

She also opened up about how she was returning to the show after being trolled during the 2022 series, saying: “I’ve got a young man helping me with my social media, and my son Mark, and everything will be filtered. He’s amazing, he helps me with everything, he reads everything, and I have a young man here called Harry who will help with Mark’s guidance.”
