Calling all romance fans! Prime Video’s upcoming eight-part series, Every Year After, hits TV screens this June – and it's shaping up to be a must-watch for anyone who loves a messy love story.
The series, which comes from Sex and the City producer Amy B. Harris, is based on Carley Fortune's bestselling novel Every Summer After. It follows the romance between Percy and Sam over six years and one week in the idyllic lake town of Barry's Bay.
If, like me, you're a sucker for a sweeping, nostalgic romance that gives major One Day meets The Summer I Turned Pretty vibes, this one needs to be on your radar. June can't come soon enough!
What is Every Year After about?
The series is billed as a "romantic, nostalgic story of first loves and the people and choices that mark us forever" and tells the story of Percy (Sadie Soverall) and Sam (Matt Cornett).
While the synopsis doesn't give much away, the bestselling book, hailed as "breathtaking" by readers, follows Persephone 'Percy' Fraser as she returns to her childhood home after a decade. Upon her arrival, she reunites with her former love, Sam Florek, after years of estrangement.
Creator Amy told Teen Vogue: "I was so immersed in the world that Carley had built and Sam and Percy’s love story, and the feeling of optimism and second chances," adding that she felt it was important "to honor the book and the characters and then expand it, so it could be a series that could go on for years to come."
Who stars in Every Year After?
Sadie Soverall (Saltburn) and Matt Cornett (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Summer of 69) lead the cast as Percy and Sam.
They're joined by Aurora Perrineau (KAOS, Westworld), Abigail Cowen (Fate: The Winx Saga), Michael Bradway (Chicago Fire, Marked Men), Joseph Chiu (Fear Street: Prom Queen, Motorheads) and Elisha Cuthbert (Girl Next Door, Happy Endings).
How to watch Every Year After
