Their voices are iconic, but their faces are often a mystery, despite being the personalities behind some of TV's most famous characters.

Playing some of the industry's beloved cartoons, the likes of Nancy Cartwright, Harley Bird and H. Jon Benjamin, may not be immediately recognisable faces and names, but once they open their mouths, they are known the world over.

From Peppa Pig to The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, The Powerpuff Girls, and SpongeBob SquarePants, some of the most popular animations in the world are voiced by actors who are largely anonymous.

It's time to meet the faces behind the characters in cartoons that have become synonymous with animated entertainment.

Voice actor H. Jon Benjamin has played Bob Belcher from Bob's Burgers for over 15 years, starting his role back in 2011.

The comedian's thick glasses and dark hair closely match the cartoon character he plays on-screen and he became a beloved star due to his funny, deadpan, monotone delivery.

As well as Bob, he also voices Sterling Archer from the hit series Archer, the Mothmonsterman from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, a trainer from Not Another Teen Movie, a Can of Vegetables from Wet Hot American Summer, and the Tree in Hell and Back

Taking over from the long-time voice of Peppa Pig, Harley Bird, actress Amelie Bea Smith has played the role of the children's cartoon since 2020. She first stepped into Peppa's shoes when she was nine years old.

The snorts and giggles of the young farmyard animal are usually made by child stars with the ability to maintain Peppa's authentic 4-year-old voice.

Perhaps one of the better-known voice actors, Nancy Cartwright, shocked the world when she revealed herself to be the voice behind Homer and Marge's teenage son, Bart Simpson.

In addition to her raspy Bart voice, Nancy also lends her tone to Maggie and Ralph Wiggum in The Simpsons and Chuckie Finster in the Rugrats

Nancy is still voice acting for the popular Fox cartoon, which is entering its 34th season as one of the longest-running series in TV history. She is the aunt of singer Sabrina Carpenter.
