If, like me, you're counting down the days until the return of Line of Duty and are searching for your next gripping police drama addiction, the UK streaming service U may have exactly what you need.
Fresh images from the original crime thriller, Hit Point, have just been unveiled, offering viewers a tantalising glimpse at this "adrenaline-charged" series centered on two London detectives thrust into a high-stakes, perilous investigation.
If you love the pulse-pounding intensity of Line of Duty, Hit Point should be on your radar. The six-part drama promises "edge-of-your-seat action" and "high-stakes" drama as thirtysomething officers, Leo and Bella, confront a complex case that threatens to blur the boundaries between their personal and professional lives. Audiences can also anticipate a "sizzling" romance, as the partners discover that love "might just be the most dangerous game of all."
With BAFTA-winning writer Howard Overman (Misfits) behind the script and the acclaimed David Caffrey (The Gentlemen, Peaky Blinders) directing, the series is shaping up to be an unmissable watch.
What is Hit Point about?
The drama follows detective partners Leo (Nick Blood) and Bella (Saffron Hocking), whose latest investigation pulls them into the dangerous criminal underworld of West London.
The synopsis continues: "When a lion, a fox, and a jaguar (or is it a panther?), or rather three men in animal masks, intercept a Range Rover carrying ten million pounds in cash, detectives Bella and Leo are called in. As they investigate, the romantic tension between them is palpable. The question is: do we actually want them to catch the criminals? All is not as it seems."
Who stars in Hit Point?
Nick Blood, known for his roles in Day of the Jackal, Trollied and Slow Horses, stars as Leo, alongside BAFTA nominee Saffron Hocking (Top Boy, The Devil's Hour) as Bella.
The newly released images show Peter Serafinowicz (The Gentlemen) as former police officer Carter, and William Abadie (Emily in Paris) as the menacing crime boss Pascal Dubois.
Rounding out the cast are Brendan Coyle (Toxic Town), Nadia Parkes (Kidnapped: The Chloe Ayling Story), Moe Bar-El (Alien: Earth), and Ossian Perret (The Last Kingdom) and Joshua Sher (The Undeclared War).
When will Hit Point be released?
Audiences don't have long to wait as Hit Point will air on U and U&Dave this August.
