James Acaster's phone call to secret girlfriend during Celebrity Traitors revealed

James Acaster is edging closer and closer to The Celebrity Traitors finale. The 41-year-old comedian, who began the game as a Faithful, has remained undetected by his fellow players since being recruited as a Traitor in episode two. 

With just two episodes left, fans are waiting with bated breath to find out whether the stand-up star, along with Traitors Maya Jama and King Jenny, will make it all the way to the end, or if the Faithfuls will rumble them in the eleventh hour. 

While all of the celebrity contestants have been sworn to secrecy about the outcome of the season, James shared some behind-the-scenes details about filming.

During a recent interview with The Times, the comedian revealed that the celebrities are allowed ten minutes each morning to FaceTime a friend or family member under the watch of a member of the production team.

"A member of the production team is there with you, so you can't have an authentic conversation because you can't tell them anything that's happening," he told the publication.

Describing part of the phone call with his partner, James continued: "At one point my partner said, 'Have you caught the sun?' I was saying, 'Oh yeah, we were outside for one of the missions.' I was told I couldn't even tell her that."

Who is James Acaster's girlfriend? 

It's thought that James has been quietly dating BBC producer Hannah Rose for four years. 

Shedding light on his home life with Hannah, James explained their daily routine during an interview with the New Cue newsletter .

"The cats wake us up around 6.30am. Feed them, do all the cat stuff. Go to this place nearby to get breakfast, get myself some bircher muesli, filter coffee, bring it back, eat breakfast with my girlfriend," he shared.

"Think about doing exercise, spend the whole day putting off the exercise, do it at 5pm, do yoga, go to the gym, get back, feed the cats again and then try and find something to watch, usually a film. 

"In the day, it's a lot of listening to music, having a nap at some point, going for a walk."

James previously dated comedian Rose Matafeo from 2014 to 2017.

Before that, he was in a relationship with actress and comedian Louise Ford from 2011 to 2013.
