As one of Britain's best-loved presenters, Emma Willis always radiates natural beauty and self-confidence, whether helming The Voice UK and Cooking with the Stars or sharing snippets of her life with husband Matt (the pair will host Love Is Blind: UK on Netflix this August) and their children on social media.

We spoke to the broadcaster to discover her top skincare and wellness tips, summer plans with the family and how all of us can feel more confident...

What are you looking forward to this summer?

Emma: "I’m looking forward to lighter evenings and warmer weather. Sitting in the garden and playing games with the kids. BBQs, seeing friends and generally feeling brighter, as summer is my favourite time of year. I’m also REALLY looking forward to getting on a plane and going away with my family which is something we do every year. Phones off, shades on, everyone present..."

How does your beauty and wellness routine change in the warmer months?

Emma: "During the summer months, I find it easier to stay hydrated. Generally, I’m a nightmare when it comes to drinking water, I have to really force myself to do it. I don’t leave the house without SPF. I whack it on before I leave and take it in my bag to reapply during the day. Absolute Collagen’s Deep Lift Day Cream is great as it contains SPF. And when I’m not at work, the makeup stays off, apart from a bit of mascara."

You've been an ambassador for Absolute Collagen since 2023. Which benefits have you seen from using the brand's sachets and serum?

Emma: "Since I’ve been using the Absolute Collagen sachets and serum I feel like my skin appears more hydrated and it feels lovely. I do try to not focus too much on what’s happening externally, so I love that the sachets are working on the inside as well."

Emma first met Absolute Collagen's co-founder Maxine during a trek in the Scottish Highlands for breast cancer charity CoppaFeel! in September 2021. They bonded over a passion for charity fundraising and have remained friends ever since. Almost 18 months later, Emma joined the Absolute Collagen team as its first ever Brand Absoluter.

Founded by British mother and daughter duo Maxine and Darcy Laceby, the inspiration for Absolute Collagen was born when Maxine began adding collagen-rich bone broth into her diet and observed a transformation in her skin, hair and nails.

A building block for youthful-looking, plump skin, collagen is the most abundant protein in the body, with a fibre-like structure that makes tissue strong and resilient, and is responsible for firming skin, hair and nails.

As we age, our natural resources of collagen begin to deplete which create the visible signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles, thinning hair and weakened nails. To discover your personal collagen percentage, take Absolute Collagen's Calculator Quiz

As Darcy studied for a food development degree, she and Maxine took a closer look at the collagen industry, finding that many tablets on the market were filled with fillers and binders. Your body has to work harder to extract nutrients from solid collagen substances, which means it can take longer to see results than their liquid counterparts.

Establishing Absolute Collagen in 2017, they opted for the more easily absorbed liquid collagen, and formulated the maximum amount of premium collagen available in the smallest, most concentrated, ready-mixed dose.

Dr Sophie Shotter is an acclaimed medical aesthetic doctor who advocates the use of a collagen supplement. "I see taking collagen as a long term investment in skin health – I take it every single day, and have done for many years now. When you see and feel the results you won’t look back.

"Absolute Collagen’s liquid supplement contains 8,000mg of hydrolysed marine collagen together with Vitamin C. The Vitamin C is a crucial addition since it is an essential part of the collagen manufacturing pathway. For me this is the gold standard."

With a delicious mango and mandarin flavour, the supplement is lactose, gluten and dairy free as well as being Halal certified and containing no artificial flavours, colours or added sugar, with 100% natural ingredients.

In convenient, portable sachets, enjoy one a day either on its own or added to any hot or cold drink or yogurt.

Dr Sophie continues: "From a beauty perspective, taking Absolute Collagen consistently will lead to tangible benefits in many different skin parameters."

Results from a clinical trial found that:

  • 46% of users in the clinical study had improved skin elasticity at 6 week, further increasing to 60% at 12 weeks
  • The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles was reduced by 20% after 12 weeks, and skin evenness improved by 33% after 12 weeks
  • 90% felt their skin was replenished and restored after 12 weeks, and 73% felt their skin looked and felt firmer

Dr Sophie states: "This is impressive within such a short time period."

Have you always felt confident in front of the camera or has this built over time?

Emma: "Confidence in front of the camera is something that has definitely built over time for me. Time and experience made a massive difference and helped me feel comfortable with myself. Understanding my strengths and working on and accepting my weaknesses, and really embracing what makes me, me."

What are your tips for readers to feel more confident in their own skin?

Emma: "It's still something I’m working on but embracing what makes you unique is a good place to start. Take time to care for yourself, inside and out, choose what to focus your energy on and try to surround yourself with positivity. I’m a huge overthinker so I’m really trying to be better at letting things go."

What is your favourite me-time activity?

Emma: "I love having Stretch Therapy. I’ve been trying to have it regularly for the last few years as I have a dodgy back. I absolutely love it, and reformer pilates for a strong body and strong mind."

What are you most proud of?

Emma: "My family. The family I’ve come from, and the family Matt and I have created. They’re awesome and my most favourite people on this earth."

Which qualities do you admire about Absolute Collagen's founder, Maxine?

Emma: "Maxine is an absolute power-house but above all else, she’s kind, humble and a huge inspiration to so many, including myself. I think we should all strive to be a little bit more ‘Maxine’."
