Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar has given fans an insight into her workout routine revealing how she keeps her toned physique.
The mom-of-two shared a video from inside a heated Alo class where she performed pilates exercises involving stability balls and dumbbells.
Wearing a matching workout kit of flared leggings and cropped sports bra, Sarah kept her hair tied back but accessorized with gold necklaces.
"I never realized how long a minute was until I took @stephmatsuba heated class @alo," she quipped in the caption with followers joking that she was keeping up the training to slay vampires and demons. Watch the video below.
Sarah has been a regular at the Alo Wellness Club in LA – an exclusive, invite-only private facility – for years, and is a brown belt in tae kwon do. She loved cardio and pilates for years, but after turning 40, she began to focus on strength training for bone density, even packing resistance bands in her suitcase when traveling.
"I've learned that, as a woman, you need to lift for your general health, especially for your bone density. Plus, a lot of the roles I take involve putting yourself in a position where you’re more likely to get injured, so I train to protect myself from that. I’m not looking to change my entire body shape, I’m looking to be healthier," she told Women's Health in 2025.
Sarah highlighted that healthy glow this past summer after a sun-soaked getaway on the French Riviera, sharing a series of stunning bikini photos from a luxurious boating trip along the Mediterranean coast.
In one snap Sarah posed in a chocolate-brown halterneck bikini while climbing back aboard a yacht, as well as wearing a navy bikini featuring a delicate white floral pattern before mixing and matching the two swimsuits for another effortless beach look.
The cult vampire drama Buffy the Vampire Slayer will celebrate its 30th anniversary in March 2027; it starred Sarah as the titular hero as well as Alyson Hannigan, David Boreanaz, Charisma Carpenter, and the late Nicholas Brendan and Anthony Stewart Head.
David and Sarah are expected to reunite at the 2026 Emmys on September 14, 2026 as both have been announced as presenters at the annual ceremony. David will star in the new NBC reboot of The Rockford Files, premiering in January.
The original show ran from 1997 to 2003 and followed teenager Buffy Summers as she battled vampires, demons and other evil forces – as well as the horrors of the real world.
In February 2025, Hulu and Sarah confirmed that Buffy and the world of the slayers would be returning to screens with a modern-day retelling from Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao.
However a year later, Hulu shared the news that the series, known as New Sunnydale, was not moving ahead after a pilot was shot.
"I am really sad to have to share this, but I wanted you all to hear it from me. Unfortunately, Hulu has decided not to move forward with Buffy: New Sunnydale," Sarah told fans.
"I want to thank Chloe Zhao because I never thought I would find myself back in Buffy's stylish yet affordable boots, and thanks to Chloe, I was reminded how much I love her and how much she means not only to me but to all of you, and this doesn't change any of that."
