Love Island star Alexandra Cane is a seasoned makeup artist, so if she's got any tips for doing your face in a hurry, with minimal tools, we're going to take 'em – and on Thursday night, she shared a pretty impressive trick with her 1.1 million Instagram followers. Having found herself in the back of a taxi without her eyebrow brush, she resorted to using her credit card to shape her brows – and we have to say, she did a pretty good job of it. One less thing to carry around with us? We'll take it.

Now that's thinking on your feet...

"Guys, I forgot my eyebrow brush, so I'm having to makeshift an eyebrow brush with my bank card! Also having to use this (my phone) as a mirror…" she told the camera, using the card to tease her arches. We have to say, they look pretty perfect to us! And if in doubt, Alexandra had one final trusty tip: "Just blend… blend!" Spoken like a true MUA.

Alexandra has painted the faces of Brazilian model Mariana Nunes and social star Demi Rose and has previously shared some of her kit-approved products on her YouTube channel. Her favourites include Maybelline's Push Up Angel Mascara, Chanel's Soleil de Tan Bronzer and both the NYX Cosmetics Blush and Illuminating palettes.

Of the palettes, she said: "Apologies for the state they're in, I do use them every day, on myself and on my clients. The reason I love the blush palette so much is because you have two shimmer blushes and the rest are matte. The shimmers I use a lot, they're my favourite – I love the skin to look healthy, bright and youthful… It's great to have lots of blushes in one place.

"The highlighting palette I use a lot too. It gives that really iridescent highlight. You can layer them, you don't have to use one on its own. You can use various ones in different areas of your face to create different looks," she adds. Excuse us while we run to our nearest Boots…
