It's official. When it comes to dressing up for an occasion, Anya Taylor-Joy doesn't hold back.Â
The 27-year-old actress is hitting the promo circuit hard at the moment, to promote her latest project, The Menu, and simply put: Her outfits refuse to quit.Â

Anya wore Schiaparelli's platform raffia wedges
For an appearance on The Tonight Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, Anya opted for an entire Schiaparelli Spring/Summer 2023 Ready-to-Wear look. Styled by Ryan Hastings she went for 'Look 8' from the avant garde couture house. The outfit consists of "a boned bustier with twisted cone breasts fashioned of luminous gold satin" and a wide belt "with a cookie-dough golden buckle and signature Schiaparelli charms." This was worn with pleated black cigarette pants with gold cookie-dough keyhole snaps. The pièce de résistance of the outfit is certainly the eye-wateringly high raffia shoes, a pair of "golden-toe espadrilles with a surrealist platform heel," which we can only guess require the wearer to have a degree in astro-physics in order to stay balanced at such extreme heights.Â
The historical couture brand has only just stepped into the world of Ready-to-Wear. "Schiaparelli ready-to-wear isn't just a more accessible cousin of Schiaparelli couture,"Â creative director Daniel Roseberry explained in an official statement, "It's also our opportunity to speak to all sides of a woman's life: the one that craves sumptuous evening gowns in satin and hammered silks, liquid viscose, and vibrant acetates; but also the one that needs crisp white cotton shirts, clean-lined wool pencil skirts, and trousers in every cut and fabric. It's couture to live life in, whether life is a dinner party or the office or a flight."

Schiaparelli SS23 Look 8
Earlier that day Anya opted for another 'kitsch' look, which has become a signature for the budding fashion icon. She attended the SiriusXM Town Hall radio show with the cast of The Menu wearing a powder pink co-ord by Courrèges. Fittingly for the Queen's Gambit star, eponymous designer André Courrèges was known for his streamlined 1960s designs influenced by modernism and futurism. He defined the go-go boot and alongside Mary Quant, is one of the designers credited with inventing the miniskirt. The iconic 1960s outfits featured in the Netflix story of chess prodigy Beth Harmon played by Anya, became a talking point after the series debuted.
