Even the most ardent style obsessives are occasionally plagued with a lack of inspiration. "That could never be me," you may determinedly assert – but make no mistake, we have quite a lot of 2026 still to come.

By and large, January is always pretty brutal for fashion fans, with those sub-zero temps wreaking havoc with all the killer (and in hindsight, perhaps slightly optimistic) outfits that we had planned.

February, on the other hand, is set to be an entirely different kettle of fish. As we edge closer to spring, we are about one thing, and one thing only: elevation.

Upping our style game with some seriously cute outfits feels like the perfect way to take our minds off the fact that it is still mind-numbingly cold outside. We need all the help we can get.

Plus, with Valentine's Day around the corner, boosting your wardrobe is officially an act of self-love. Look, we don't make the rules – that privilege is all Saint Valentine's – and if he says we ought to tick off a few pieces on our current list of lust, who are we to argue?

Forget showers of roses or wildly extra proposals, this year we're all about scrolling through the slew of stylish outfits in the fashion ether and choosing 'the one' to match our V-Day mood.

If you're planning on celebrating February 14 via your outfit, think about how you can channel the spirit of love without the vibe verging into overly cliché territory. Consider subtle heart-shaped accents, glitzy earrings, playful accessories, and a colour palette that embraces reds and pinks, all while retaining a sense of sartorial balance.

These looks are guaranteed to hit the spot irrespective of your Valentine’s plans, whether you’re celebrating years of romance with your long-time partner, or embarking on the thrill of a first date.

Fine Knit

As the temperature shifts and the ice slowly melts into the beginnings of spring, we start reaching for the petal-soft knits to keep us warm during February. Look to Miu Miu for major runway inspo here - the brand teamed lightweight pink knits with midi skirts to create the most covetable, cool-girl ensemble of the season.

Cropped Leather

Pack a punch with a pale pink leather jacket. The style set is currently favouring cropped silhouettes to layer over longline knits - creating a visual feast for those in the know. Throw some suede into the mix and you have a runway-ready to look to debut in time for February 14.

Lean into Logos

Feeling lazy this month? Exert little to no effort and let your wardrobe do all the talking. Brands such as Ami incorporate heart motifs into their house logos, meaning your one-way ticket to effortless V-Day style is simply slipping into an emblem-clad piece.

Slouchy Chic

There's no need to feel uncomfortable on Valentine's. In fact, it couldn't be easier to conjure a look that will take you from sofa to speakeasy. To achieve the look, layer a chunky knit jumper or cardigan over a sequinned mini skirt, tights and heels - the perfect blend of composed comfort.

Pink Puffer

Stay toasty as can be this Valentine's with a vibrant pink puffer. Not only is the staple on trend for the love-filled day, but it will also brighten up everyone's morning commute on a bleary-eyed, grey Tuesday. Dopamine dressing personified.

When in doubt, florals. A floral dress will forever be a wardrobe staple, primed for special occasions be it date night or office party. This Yuhan Wang variation has long been tickling our brain. Bloomin' lovely.

As Adwoa Aboah so effortlessly demonstrated, tulle is always a failsafe pick. Championed by brands such as Molly Goddard, the whimsical fabric creates an air of impishness. Ideal for flirt-filled date nights out.
