We see the Princess of Wales looking flawlessly glamorous at royal engagements, red-carpet premieres and official state occasions, so it's hard to picture her with a pair of Marrigolds on by the sink at home - but it turns out that's a regular occurrence!
During a royal engagement on Wednesday, the Princess of Wales hopped aboard a community bus in Sussex which was headed for Pulborough Village Hall, where she joined in with a weekly lunch club, chatting to members of the community.
She sat alongside Lynda Jones, 75, who had her in fits of giggles. She told Lynda: "I love washing up. I really do." When asked whether her husband helped out, the royal said: "He does the drying. We are a good double act. And we get the children involved."
© Getty ImagesWhile it may sound surprising that Kate does some of her own domestic duties, the late Queen Elizabeth II was well known for helping out with washing up after mealtimes.
Royal author Valentine Low, who penned Power and the Palace, told HELLO!'s A Right Royal Podcast, where the Queen's washing up at Balmoral story first came from.
He said: "The source of this was Alex Allen, who was the Prime Minister's private secretary under John Major," he said.
© Getty Images"The Prime Minister goes there every year for a weekend in September, the private secretary goes with him, and there's often a barbecue. In the old days, Prince Philip and Andrew would cook the sausages on the barbecue and all that sort of stuff.
"And famously afterwards, the Queen would do the washing up and, you know, people would leap up to help and they'd be told that she enjoys doing it. So Alex Allen leapt up to help and was just told 'no no no, the Queen enjoys doing it.'"
He also revealed that a lady-in-waiting had once said that the dishes yet re-washed in the dishwasher after the Queen had already washed them by hand!

Chatting to a group of users of the minibus service, Kate tucked into a crisp in front of the cameras, and admitted she loves "salted" foods.
Another honest confession came on the topic of her forgetfulness. She said: "Everyone always runs after me [shouting] ‘you forgot your handbag'," and during one moment outside, with a youngster, Kate placed her burgundy bag on the ground, revealing another opportunity for the piece to be misplaced, but luckily she did remember it!
