It's been over a week since the Digger premiere, where star Tom Cruise appeared on the red carpet alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales, but the actor is still reeling from his encounter with the royal couple.
Speaking to Extra TV, Tom recalled his wonderful night with the couple, branding them "amazing". "I have so much respect for them, they are amazing people". Specifically about Kate, he said: "She's got an incredible sense of humour, very intelligent and fun."
He then remarked that "William did well" choosing Kate as a partner. Turning to the camera to say: "Will, way to go, smart choice. Got to give it to William, way to go."
© Getty ImagesHe also kept their private conversations under wraps when he was quizzed on what they talk about at such events. "We have private conversations, we talk about things that are between us," he firmly said. Although he did reveal they found the film "funny".
A glamorous royal date night

Princess Kate stunned in a jewel-toned purple Jenny Packham gown paired with historic jewellery pieces from the royal vaults, including the Queen Mother’s Amethyst Sautoir Necklace and Princess Diana’s drop earrings. While Prince William wore a velvet tuxedo jacket, which Tom Cruise admired.
The couple shared sweet moments together throughout the evening, displaying a rare public display of affection, where William gently placed his hand on his wife's back as they walked around the press area together. They spent time warmly greeting fans and stars like David Beckham before heading inside for the screening.
Tom's Prince Charming moment

As he reached out his hand, Kate gracefully saved him from any hesitation by swiftly transferring her clutch bag to her other hand, allowing him to seamlessly hold her hand without a misstep.
During another moment in the night, the Princess kept her composure when a bystander accidentally stepped on her dress train. The royal remained smiling despite being jolted by the moment, handling the incident with grace and poise. Her train required some readjusting during the night for the photos, and the 44-year-old was pictured doing this herself and also seen carrying her own train up the stairs.
