On Friday 8 January, Denmark's royal twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine will turn five. With their cherubic smiles and sunny personalities, it's fair to say that the siblings, who are the youngest children of Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik, have melted hearts of royal fans.

As they do every year, it's likely that the Danish royal palace will release official portraits of the twins. Vincent and Josephine, who is 26 minutes younger than her brother, are usually pictured together and individually.

Their parents Mary and Frederik may choose to call on an official photographer to take the pictures as they have done in previous years. Or, doting mum Mary, 43, could go behind the camera herself, as she did for their second birthday.

Since they were first introduced to the world in 2011, when Frederik described his new arrivals as "miracles times two", the blonde tots have changed remarkably.

The young scene-stealers have become the stars of the show during family photoshoots and holidays, pictured giggling away and bonding with their older siblings Prince Christian, ten, and eight-year-old Princess Isabella.

The family have just returned from their Christmas holidays in Mary's homeland, Australia, but are back to the normal routine of school and royal engagements.

This weekend will be the perfect time to celebrate the twins' birthday with their extended family – Frederik's parents Queen Margrethe II and Henrik, the Prince Consort, and Frederik's younger brother Prince Joachim and Joachim's family.

The royals will most likely celebrate in the privacy of their home, as they've done in previous years.
