Queen Camilla's rescue pup, Moley, stole our hearts on Friday evening when she had a surprising starring role in the King's birthday message to Sir David Attenborough.
But there was another adorable royal moment that stole our hearts just hours before. Princess Anne had quite the interaction, which will have no doubt delighted royal fans when she attended the first garden party of the season earlier this week.
The Princess Royal, as well as King Charles, met two-year-old coker spaniel pooch Vegas, who serves as a hearing dog for the deaf.
After greeting the royals by affectionately jumping up and licking their hands, Vegas was formally introduced by her owner, Kate Wilson, 52, from Horsham, West Sussex.
Kate told the Princess, who is patron of Hearing Dogs for the Deaf charity, that the cocker spaniel is her first hearing service dog. "And does she help you? That's all working well?" Anne asked."Oh, she really helps me," Wilson agreed. "I am a teacher, and she has changed my life."
At this point in the conversation, Vegas appeared to be getting a little bored and started digging frantically at the lawn. Kate apologised, but Anne smiled and waved her hands. "Oh, it’s quite all right,’ she said, adding, "It's a good size,’ she smiled, clearly as much of a judge of dogs as she is of horses.
'I won't tell my brother'
"I think she’s digging for truffles," Kate joked, to which Anne whipped back: "Good luck with that! Let me know if you find any!" The moment, left Princess Anne roaring with laughter and promising Kate not to tell her brother.
After talking to the Princess, Kate said, of the interaction: "She's a wonderful lady with all the work she does.
Adding of her beloved pup: "I'm a teacher, and having Vegas has changed everything for me. It means she can alert me to things that are going on or alarms going off. And it means my son can leave me alone without worrying."
Stylish Anne
Anne looked beautiful for the royal event, wearing an off-white linen coat dress which she paired with a matching hat and gloves in the same elegant hue. She completed her look with a pair of brown suede shoes.
Meanwhile, the King and Queen, who also met the happy pup, looked smart. The monarch was seen in a sharp suit, while Camilla wore an elegant pale blue Fiona Clare suit.
