Princess Beatrice's husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, has reacted to her surprise appearance at a birthday bash in Italy.
The 37-year-old royal was spotted at her good friend Lauren De Niro Pipher's 40th birthday party at the luxury La Posta Vecchia Hotel, located just outside of Rome.
In one picture, Beatrice was even seen dancing on a table in her floral dress, paired with strappy heels.
Property executive Edoardo, whom Beatrice married in 2020, was clearly pleased to see his wife having such a good time and gave the post a supportive "like" on Instagram.
Alongside the bank of pictures, Lauren reflected on the event, penning: "Friends joined from five countries. Some knew each other, many didn’t. No drama, no early mornings, barely any phones except to capture moments. Just presence, great wine, pasta at every meal, and more laughter than I can account for," she mused.
She added, "I planned it all and yet I felt like a guest at my own party. It was more special and FUN than I could’ve imagined and I will cherish these days and the people who were able to join me for the next 40 years."
Beatrice's party
Beatrice, the elder daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, wore two floral dresses on the trip, reportedly a weekend soiree, clearly embracing the springtime aesthetic.
She wore one dress from The Vampire's Wife and picked another piece from a brand adored by the royals, Zimmerman, often worn by Zara Tindall and Duchess Sophie.
She chose the 'Whitewave Tiered Dress in Navy Poppy Floral Print', featuring sheer panelling and a bright floral print.
The trip to Italy, where the Princess of Wales notably visited a few weeks ago, marks a rare public appearance for Beatrice, who has been keeping a low profile in recent months following Andrew's arrest in February over allegations of misconduct in public office.
However, Beatrice and her sister Eugenie, who is expecting her third child, have appeared to be making a slow but steady return to public life in recent months, and they attended Poppy Delevingne's high-profile birthday party last month.
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo's relationship
Edoardo is active on Instagram and is often seen supporting his wife's various adventures. Princess Beatrice, meanwhile, does not have a public Instagram account.
The couple were introduced by a mutual friend in 2018 and tied the knot in July 2020 at the Royal Chapel of All Saints, with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in attendance.
Edo was previously engaged to architect Dara Huang and has a son from the relationship, called Christopher "Wolfie" Woolf, nine.
Beatrice and Edo also share two children, Sienna, four, and Athena, one.
In March, widespread reports claimed that Beatrice and Edoardo were experiencing a period of difficulty in their marriage and were navigating a period of distance.
However, friends told HELLO! that the rumours were "not true at all", adding: "The only thing Bea and Edo are navigating are their busy jobs and looking after their children! They've both had recent stints working abroad and like so many working parents, have balancing work with looking after the kids.
"Recent reports that things aren't good between them are not true at all. Things are great between them and the only distance between them recently has been physical distance because of work!"
