Princess Beatrice had plenty of reasons to celebrate on Saturday, as not only did she mark her 38th birthday, but she recently became an aunt again, following the birth of her niece earlier this week.
Among the people to send her well-wishes was her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, whom she married in July 2020. The Italian property mogul shared a photo of the couple together during a sunset, with the sea stretching out behind them.
He left a simple dedication to the royal, who is the eldest daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson. "Happy birthday my love," he said in all-caps.
Edo's message comes despite the couple being beleaguered by reports over the state of their marriage in recent months. The father-of-three seemingly addressed the rumours in an interview with The Gentleman's Journal, where he spoke about "family".
When asked about his perfect holiday, Edoardo replied: "Getting off the beaten track, disconnecting from emails and news, and spending time with my family." Similarly, he listed his "biggest luxury" as "experiences, travel and time with family". Explaining how he relaxes, he said it's simply "time with family and friends".
The 42-year-old often shares birthday tributes to his beloved, and in 2022, he posted a beautiful message praising Beatrice's skills as a mother. Sharing a photo of Beatrice looking happy during a boat trip, he penned: "You are the world's best wife. Along with this, you are the best mother in the world. We love you so very much. Happy birthday my darling."
Reports over the state of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's marriage
The couple's relationship has been in the spotlight, with the pair seemingly spending time apart, with Edoardo having plenty of business trips abroad. Rumours circulated that the pair had grown distant due to the scandals enveloping Beatrice's parents, following further revelations about their friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
However, back in March, friends of the pair told HELLO! that rumours of marital strife between the pair were "not true at all", saying they were navigating "busy jobs and looking after their children".
In July, Edo and Beatrice shared a loving look as they attended Harriet and Peter Phillips' wedding alongside senior members of the royal family, and took a selfie on a trip to Greece, enjoying a European summer.
