The Princess of Wales has shared a touching glimpse of the emotional family reunion that awaited her after completing the gruelling National Three Peaks Challenge, and royal fans couldn't help but notice just how grown-up Prince George looks.

In a series of heartwarming photographs posted to social media, Kate is seen embracing her eldest son after reaching the finish line of the incredible fundraising challenge in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

The sweet family moment quickly caught the attention of royal watchers, with many pointing out that 12-year-old George is now almost as tall as his mother, while others commented on how 'beautiful' the moment was.

"So beautiful. Thank you for sharing such personal family moments with us," wrote one fan.

One particularly moving image captured the future king wrapping his arms around Kate in a heartfelt hug after she completed the demanding challenge, while younger siblings Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, waited nearby to congratulate their mother.

Another photograph showed the Wales family reunited on a Welsh mountainside, with Prince William standing proudly alongside Kate, George, Charlotte and Louis. The Princess was also joined by her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, and her brother, James Middleton, who supported her throughout the challenge.

Alongside the photographs, Kate reflected on the achievement, writing: "This time last week, completing the National Three Peaks Challenge. A huge thank you to everybody who has supported The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity."

The challenge saw the Princess climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours, conquering Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and finally Yr Wyddfa, also known as Snowdon.

When she first announced the challenge, Kate explained that it represented far more than a physical test.

"Every year, hundreds of thousands of people in this country hear the words no one wants to hear," she wrote.

"What follows is a path that tests every part of who we are: physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. The challenges ripple outwards, touching families, friendships, work and the quiet moments we spend alone with our thoughts."

Speaking candidly about her own experience, the Princess added: "Cancer doesn't just affect the body. It changes how you think and feel and profoundly affects every aspect of life. I know this personally, and that the journey through and beyond treatment requires more than medicine alone."

Kate explained that taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge was an opportunity "to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back" to The Royal Marsden, the hospital that treated her during her cancer journey.

"We have an opportunity to reshape what the future of holistic cancer care looks like, enabling more people, nationwide, to access the kind of personalised support that can help make a meaningful difference during and after medical treatment," she wrote.

She concluded with a moving reflection on what the experience had taught her.

"Bravery isn't just about pushing forward. It is about knowing how to stay grounded, connected and present, no matter the terrain or landscape you are walking."

Kate's younger brother James Middleton also paid an emotional tribute to his sister after completing the challenge together.

"I'm so incredibly proud of my darling sister," he wrote on Instagram. "Two years ago, I told you we'd climb this mountain together."

Recalling conversations they shared while Kate was undergoing treatment, James added: "We talked about climbing mountains while you were in hospital, and about the incredible healing power that nature can have for both the body and the mind. So it was such an honour to join you for your Three Peaks Challenge for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity."

He continued: "Seeing how far you've come is nothing short of inspiring. Your strength, resilience, and determination, all while being the most amazing mother, wife, daughter and sister, inspire me and so many others every single day. "Keep being exactly who you are."
