The Prince and Princess of Wales have temporarily retired from their busy working lives to enjoy a family holiday with their three children.
The Waleses shared a "Summer Rewind" post on Instagram on Tuesday, offering fans a glimpse into family life before taking a private summer break. In one photo, the family was pictured lying in the grass together while on holiday in Cornwall.
Over the years, the couple, both 44, have enjoyed vacations in a number of destinations in the UK and overseas.
Unlike many Brits, who often seek escape on sun-soaked European beaches, William and Kate are lovers of a local holiday.
UK getaways
The Isles of Scilly, located off the southwest of England, have been a favourite of William's ever since he visited there as a child with his parents, King Charles and Princess Diana.
It's a tradition he's kept alive with his wife, the pair frequently visiting with their children. In 2020, they were seen riding bicycles as a family on the isle of Tresco.
© Getty ImagesThey are also known to enjoy holidaying in Norfolk, where King Charles's Sandringham estate is situated. The family typically retreat to Anmer Hall, their country home on the estate where they often seek solitude on weekends, school breaks and holidays.
It is the house where Kate has previously said she feels "most at home". The 10-bedroom property was gifted to the Waleses as a wedding present in 2011. The couple have previously enjoyed holidays in Cornwall with their children, Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight.

Another photograph shared in honour of the couple's 13th wedding anniversary this year featured the loving family lying on the grass together with Kate cuddling her two sons either side of her. The picture was also taken after a holiday in Cornwall.
Holidays abroad
The family do sometimes venture outside of England too. The Waleses have visited the private Caribbean island of Mustique on several occasions.

While they typically enjoy their summer holidays in sunny beach destinations, William and Kate have also retreated to colder parts of the world in the past. Last year, they were spotted enjoying a skiing holiday in the Alps, a destination they previously visited in 2016.
Pictures of the couple riding the slopes together emerged in 2025, the loved-up pair both bundled up in stylish skiwear. Leaving their three children behind, William and Kate took the opportunity to spend some one-on-one time together following Kate's cancer diagnosis.
