The Prince and Princess of Wales enjoyed a family outing at the 2026 Commonwealth Games on Saturday in Glasgow with their three children, including their youngest, Prince Louis, who was his ever expressive self.
For their last engagement of the day, the Waleses met with athletes from Team Wales at Wales House, which led to a lighthearted interaction between Prince William and his youngest. The Prince of Wales had the best response when he found out his son is apparently a fan of high jump, which seemed to be surprising information to his parents.
Louis joined his dad and his siblings, Prince George, 13, and Princess Charlotte, 11, for a chat with Para-athletes Aled Davies, and Olivia Breen, and 400m runner Charlotte Henrich, during which Louis said he recently took part in his first sports day at school. When she joined the rest of her family at the table, the Princess of Wales was told: "Louis was saying he likes high jump."

Prince Louis' big day out
© Getty ImagesThe penultimate day of the Commonwealth Games on Saturday was Louis' first major sporting event. While the young royal has attended momentous events like Trooping the Colour and the Christmas Day service in Sandringham, the only public engagement he's previously attended was in 2023 when he joined his parents and siblings at a Big Help Out volunteering initiative during the King’s Coronation celebrations.
Meanwhile, his brother and sister have been to sporting events before, most recently joining their parents for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships last month.
For his son's milestone outing, William was ever the doting dad as he was pictured with his arm around his youngest's back in a supportive gesture. During the outing, William introduced his children to English para athlete Mark Swan, who won the first gold of the Games in the weightlifting event.
The Waleses then watched the women's netball semi-final match between Australia and Jamaica, which ended in a victory for Jamaica by a single point.
© WireImageLouis was as animated as always as he watched the track events next to his big brother with a massive grin and a bucket hat on his head in photos captured of the crowd. The young royal stood out in the bright red Beicio Cymru hat, which means Wales Cycling.
Louis appeared to get the attention of his great-uncle, Prince Edward, who turned around in his seat to see his great-nephew grinning in the bucket hat. Edward was also seen sharing a sweet moment with Louis as he reached over to hand something to the young royal.
