Meghan Markle's mysterious £140k diamond ring sends fans into a tailspin

Prince Harry's wife first wore her pear-shaped diamond ring in February 2026, but it continues to be a staple of her summer jewellery collection

The Duchess of Sussex put her cooking skills on display as she prepared a dessert using her As Ever products, but it was her jewellery that drew focus.

In her newsletter, Meghan stood in the sunshine as she spooned Raspberry Preserve into a crystal glass, topped it with ice cream, and finished it with crumbled shortbread and edible flowers for a fruity, refreshing summer sweet treat.

She described it as "gorgeous" with "a touch of whimsy." Dressed in a white pencil skirt and matching linen vest, the former Suits actress accessorised with her Welsh gold wedding band on her left hand, while her trilogy engagement ring with diamonds from Botswana and Princess Diana's private collection was absent.

On her right hand, however, the Duchess wore a large pear-shaped diamond ring layered next to another gold band.

It quickly became a talking point for fans, with one screenshotting it and writing on X: "We need to talk about that pear-shaped diamond honey!!!" while another penned: "I hope it was a gift from Harry." A third added: "CANNOT believe Meghan has had this massive pear-shaped diamond for months and months and no one has been able to identify it yet!!"

The 44-year-old has often experimented with ring etiquette, wearing her stack in non-traditional ways or swapping her engagement ring for dress jewellery.

She debuted the pear-shaped rock on her right hand back in February 2026, when she joined Prince Harry at the 75th All-Star NBA game.

That appears to be the last time she was seen wearing her trilogy ring on her left hand; she chose to forego it for her recent trips to Jordan, Geneva and Australia, and at the documentary screening of Cookie Queens in July 2026.

Meghan's new 'warm' ring is worth up to £140k

At the time, Monique Daniels Daw, the head of manufacturing at Queensmith who has 13 years of experience in the jewellery industry, estimated Meghan's new ring was worth around £140k.

She exclusively told HELLO!: "Meghan’s latest ring appears to be a trendy pear cut diamond. The stone looks on the warmer side, placing it within the lower end of the colour spectrum, and is estimated at approximately 5 carats.

"It is set on a sleek solitaire band, which appears to be yellow gold, complementing the warm tones of the diamond."

The jewellery expert noted that the diamond is on the "lower end of the colour grade scale," hinting that it's likely a natural diamond worth around £140,000 (or $189,519.40 USD). However, if it were a lab-grown one, "the cost would be significantly lower, around £8,000."
