Like so many of us, the royal family are huge dog lovers and have often been seen with their furry friends.
So, it may not come as a surprise that some Brits have chosen to honour their pets with royal-inspired names.
Shared exclusively with HELLO!, Dogs Trust's 2026 National Survey of more than 180,000 dog lovers has revealed which royals have inspired the most pet names – and the results may surprise you.
The Princess of Wales is known to be a dog lover – and is a proud dog mum to her two cocker spaniels, Orla and Otto.

What are the most popular royal dog names?
According to the Dogs Trust survey, there were only seven dogs named Kate, and no Catherines, charity representatives told HELLO!.
George was the most popular royal dog name, with 534 pooches given the princely moniker, while 194 canines were called Louis, and just 18 were called Charlotte.
There were 48 dogs named William, meaning his name was more popular than his wife's, but not as popular as his sons'.
© Princess of WalesThe King and Queen also appear to have inspired a few dog names, with 11 called Charles and four called Camilla.
The Sussexes also seem popular with dog lovers, as there were 433 dogs named Harry, putting him in second place after his nephew George.
Other royals making the list were Duchess Sophie, with 153 dogs sharing her name, Zara Tindall with 63, and Peter Phillips, with 63 hounds given his first name.

The royal family's pet dogs
Prince William and Kate own two spaniels, Orla and Otto. Otto was born last year from a litter of Orla's puppies.
"We've got a little puppy; he's only eight months," Kate shared in February, with the couple revealing his name in May.
They welcomed Orla in 2020 and previously owned spaniel Lupo, who was a wedding present from Kate's brother, James Middleton.
© InstagramPrince Harry and Meghan Markle also have two dogs, beagle Mamma Mia and black Labrador Pula, who are both believed to have joined them on their return to the UK.
Queen Camilla has rescue dogs called Moley and Bluebell, while King Charles's personal canine companion is a Lagotto Romagnolo named Snuff.

The pooches are still believed to live with the disgraced former Prince at his exile home, Marsh Farm in Sandringham.
