Prince William showed off his witty sense of humour ahead of his father King Charles' coronation in a moment that went largely missed.
Charles' coronation took place on Saturday 6 May, 2023 at Westminster Abbey in London, where he was crowned alongside his wife, Queen Camilla. Following the historic ceremony, senior members of the royal family celebrated by making an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony and attending a concert at Windsor Castle the next day.
Ahead of the family's monumental weekend, the Prince and Princess of Wales stepped out in Soho on 4 May, where they greeted people outside the Dog and the Duck pub. While shaking hands and chatting with those in the crowd, one person asked William if he had "anything exciting planned this weekend?"

The coronation concert at Windsor Castle on 7 May was a star-studded event with A-list musicians Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Take That among the performers.
During the night, Prince William took to the stage to deliver a touching speech, gushing that he was "so proud" of his father.

He then paid tribute to his father's work, shining a light on Charles' environmental advocacy. William said his father had "dedicated himself to serve others, both current and future generations, and those whose memory must not be neglected".
