There's nothing quite like a royal romance, and while we're getting our fictional fix of true love from the recent Sense and Sensibility adaptation, there is a real-life romance we are simply besotted by.
Princess Alexandra of Hanover announced her engagement to her boyfriend of 10 years, Ben-Sylvester Strautmann, last month, and we cannot get over the details of the picture-perfect proposal. But did you see this loved-up snap of the husband and wife-to-be?
The image shows the happy couple beaming while out for dinner on a terrace overlooking the distinctive green-tiled dome and ornate architecture of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo in Monaco, Alenadra's glittering yellow diamond ring stealing the spotlight.
"Scribble scribble shboom shboom," Alexandra captioned the 'photo dump', which also contained a selection of low-key snaps featuring books, snacks and a candid shot of Alexandra walking through the luxurious corridors of the aforementioned hotel.
"Soo much love," one follower replied. A second added: "You make a very beautiful couple." Meanwhile, a third penned: "Alexandra is so enchanting naturally."
Ben pops the question
Last month, the writer, 27, shared news that Ben had popped the question with a series of beautiful photographs on social media, showing off her dazzling yellow diamond ring - which is certainly fit for a princess.
"The marriage plot," she penned on Instagram, honouring her glittering new jewel with a string of yellow love heart emojis.
In the featured photo, the royal appeared head over heels alongside her new fiancé as she showed off her engagement ring for the camera.
One thing is certain: Alexandra’s engagement manicure was perfection, featuring a chic Hailey Bieber–inspired 'glazed doughnut' chrome sheen with a delicate French tip.
Additional photos from the milestone moment captured the Princess resting her left hand over a lavish breakfast spread, along with adorable shots of her long-haired dachshund, Elouise.
Well-wishes poured in from royalty and celebrity friends alike: Princess Diana's niece, Kitty Spencer, commented, "Aah congratulations," followed by a row of red heart emojis, while Alexandra Leclerc, wife of F1 driver Charles Leclerc, added, "Congratulations!!!!
