Princess Caroline's daughter, Princess Alexandra of Hanover, showed off her dazzling trilogy ring as she announced her engagement to Ben-Sylvester Strautmann on Friday.
After taking a closer look at the rock, engagement ring specialists have estimated that the 27-year-old writer's yellow diamond ring is worth around £150k – and it has some very "unique" details.
Celebrating the relationship milestone, Alexandra held her hand up to the camera in an intimate photo with her new fiancé, whom she had been dating for around 10 years. In further snaps, she ensured her new accessory was on full display as she elegantly placed her left hand on the table next to a delicious-looking breakfast spread and hugged her long-haired sausage dog, Eloise.
"The marriage plot," she penned on Instagram.
Engagement ring specialist breaks down the "unique" ring
According to Jessica Flinn-Allen, who has over 13 years' experience in jewellery, the "trillion diamonds" serve as a beautiful contrast to the central yellow stone.
"Alexandra's ring is a stunning trilogy style engagement ring, set with a beautiful, vivid yellow cushion cut diamond, estimated to be around 5cts," she told HELLO!.
"Accented by two trillion cut colourless diamonds, this ring style is modern yet timeless, and is unique with the soft curves of the cushion cut contrasted with the geometric lines of the trillion diamonds.
"Her ring has a platinum band, with her centre diamond set in double talon yellow gold claws to perfectly complement it. The estimated value of this stunning piece is around £150,000," Jessica concluded.
Inside Princess Alexandra's private royal romance
Prince Albert of Monaco's niece Alexandra has remained tight-lipped about her personal life, including her relationship with Ben.
The couple made their official public debut at Monaco’s high-society Rose Ball in March 2017. Since then, former competitive basketball player Ben has accompanied Alexandra to a number of high-profile events, including the F1 Grand Prix and Alexandra's half-brother Prince Christian of Hanover's 2018 wedding with Alessandra de Osma in Lima, Peru.
While she hasn't spoken publicly about her love life, Alexandra previously told Spanish magazine Telva that she wants to lead a "normal life."
In a translated text, she said: "I'm not yet fully aware that I might have a voice. Nor of my status as a princess; I try not to think about it, while still being grateful, of course, for how privileged I've been. But I want a normal life."
