Ibiza and Bali are the most popular summer holiday destinations in 2017, according to new research from TripAdvisor. The travel and booking site has compiled a list of top ten long-haul and short-haul holiday destinations based on the interest in hotels in each destination, with Spanish and Asian holidays coming out on top.
It's no surprise Ibiza has proved popular with holiday-goers; the White Isle has long been a favourite destination for Brits who are tempted by the amazing nightclubs, beautiful beaches and Mediterranean climate. Ibiza is a favourite with celebrities too; Holly Willoughby previously recalled a girls' weekend in Ibiza as one of her favourite holidays, while Shakira and Gerard Piqué are such fans of the island they bought a luxury apartment there in 2013.

Meanwhile Bali has become increasingly popular in recent years. The Indonesian island is luring in sun-seekers with its stunning sandy beaches and lush rice fields, offering both relaxation and cultural sites that have been visited by the likes of David Beckham and Justin Bieber.
Other destinations to make the short-haul holiday top ten include various places across Spain – Majorca, Barcelona and Benidorm all look set to be popular this summer – while the Greek islands of Crete and Santorini are also appealing to holidaymakers. Meanwhile Brits looking to travel further afield look set to follow in the footsteps of stars including Tom Fletcher and Holly Willoughby with holidays to Orlando, Florida – the home of Walt Disney World and other famous theme parks.
