Time for some fun in the sun! A river cruise accompanied by a healthy dose of cocktails, a modern tapas Sunday feast and a chance to attend Prince Harry's stag do - read on for inspiration for fun things to do in London...
Hop aboard the cocktail cruise
Looking for a fun way to see London this weekend? Ditch dry land and hop aboard Alfred Le Roy. This cute cruise will take you down the River Lea to an incredible soundtrack, and your £15 ticket will get you a complimentary cocktail before you set sail. With classic cocktails and signature serves like the Toffee Apple Sour to keep you hydrated, it's the perfect way to soak up the start of the summer sun.
Have a Sunday feast at Ember Yard
Swap your wintry Sunday roast with a springtime feast at Ember Yard this weekend. The popular modern tapas restaurant, located in the heart of Soho, has just launched its new Sunday Feast menu. This month they're celebrating all things asparagus, which means you'll find the nutritious veg in all four courses, even dessert. Hero dishes include baked steam trout, Gloucester old spot filet and asparagus risotto. Don't miss the raisin and asparagus affogato either! What's more, bubbly and wine are bottomless for each two-hour sitting, while a live band plays in the background. That sounds like the perfect Sunday to us.
Crash Prince Harry's stag do
You can attend Prince Harry's stag do... sort of! Boxpark Shoreditch will be hosting a royal wedding-themed stag on Friday 18 May, and registration to attend is now open. DJ Jevanni, who famously slipped Harry his business card when the Prince visited him in Brixton, will be playing a special set to East London revellers. Plus, anyone with the first name 'Harry' will be given a free pint and those with the first name 'Meghan' a glass of prosecco.
Grab lunch at Dalloway Terrace
Dalloway Terrace is famous for its stunning (and very Instagrammable) floral walls, and this summer is no different. Take snaps of the beautiful setting while enjoying some of their amazing dishes, including seared scallops served in picturesque seashells, delicious crispy pork belly and Angus beef fillet steak from the Dalloway grill.
Brunch at 34 Mayfair
Brunch, one of our favourite meals! Grab your girlfriends and head down to 34 Mayfair for a truly elegant and sophisticated catch-up. The new and revamped brunch menu has some showstopping dishes. We're still dreaming of the Japanese waygu croquettes with wasabi mayo, and fried duck egg with Iberico ham. There's a range to tuck in to, from the more indulgent fried chicken and waffles, to the exotic crispy duck and green mango salad.
Soak up summer at John Lewis
John Lewis is bringing LA summer to London - and more specifically, to the third floor of their flagship store. Shoppers will have the chance to 'take a dip' in the virtual pool and play around with Sunnylife inflatables. Vita Liberata will be providing summer beauty experiences and mini skincare goodies, while Aperol Spritz samplers. 'Poolside' will be popping up until 17 June.
Watch a star perform at Quaglino's
Head over to Quaglino's in St. James to watch CeCe Peniston, who will be performing at the stunning art deco restaurant and late night venue on Sunday 20 May. The star is best known for her hit single, Finally, which is one of the biggest dance records in history to date! Speaking about welcoming her to the stunning venue's general manager, Leslie Kwarteng, said: "We are really looking forward to CeCe's performance, her nostalgic records… will get everyone on the dancefloor making it a night to remember at Quaglino's." Prices start from £35 at quaglinos-restaurant.co.uk
Wicked Theatre Break
Treat your loved one to a special trip to the West End! The gravity-defying Wizard of Oz prequel, which is the 15th longest running show in London theatre history, tells a heartwarming story with unforgettable songs. From £103 per person for one night's accommodation at the Bayswater Inn Hotel, you can also get breakfast and top-price stall tickets for the show. Make it a weekend to remember…
Feel summery at The Coral Room
Grab a summer cocktail at The Coral Room, a beautiful new bar within The Bloomsbury hotel which gives you a country escape without needing to leave the city. You could also visit the Coral Garden on your visit – a secluded cigar terrace under a canopy of green foliage, for the ultimate summer drinking spot.
