Sia appeared to take a swipe at her estranged husband, Dan Bernad, after the eye-watering amount she will pay him in child support was revealed.
As part of their joint custody agreement, the "Chandelier" singer has agreed to pay her ex $42,500 per month for their two-year-old son, Somersault 'Summi' Wonder Bernad, People reported earlier this week.
After the news was revealed, Sia took to X on Tuesday with a brutal four-word statement seemingly aimed at Dan, writing: "Good dads get jobs."
In a separate post on X, she addressed the settlement, writing: "I'm a sober working mom trying to buy peace. I have primary custody of our son and since I am the only parent earning income I still have to pay California's incredibly high child support.
"This has been a horrific year," she continued, "But it taught me how to navigate incredibly difficult situations, prioritize my family and not absorb other people's negativity."
She concluded with a quote from Alexander Pope's 1771 poem An Essay on Criticism: "To err is human, to forgive is divine."
According to court documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, seen by People, Sia's child support payments began on April 1, 2026, and continue until their child turns 18, or, if he is still attending high school full-time, until he graduates or turns 19.
The payments may end earlier under certain conditions, including death, marriage, emancipation, or further court order.
Sia is also responsible for paying her son's private school tuition, agreed-upon extracurricular activities, health insurance, and uninsured healthcare costs.
The Australian singer filed for divorce from Dan, her second husband, on March 18, 2025, citing irreconcilable differences; in the filing, it was revealed that she had given birth to her third child, and her first with Dan, in March 2024.
Sia reportedly asked the court for full legal and physical custody; however, in the latest filing, it was revealed that she and Dan will share legal custody of their son, with a schedule already agreed upon, as well as a division of holidays.
The pair tied the knot in December 2022, followed by an intimate ceremony in May 2023, surrounded by six of their loved ones in Portofino, Italy.
Dan picked up the mantle of fatherhood when he married Sia, as she already had two teenage sons whom she had adopted in 2019.
The songwriter was drawn to adopt after viewing the 2016 documentary Foster, which explored the pitfalls of the foster system.
She then found the boy who had been interviewed in the documentary and expressed her wish to become his mother. He asked Sia if she could also adopt his cousin Che, to which she readily agreed.
"I had two spare bedrooms, so I said, 'Sure!'" she told InStyle. "And even though I'd never met Che before, he also moved in with me that evening.
"I just felt so blessed to have them both with me," she added. "And I've realized over the past year that Che was meant to be my son, too."
