George Clooney appears to be capped out on surprises.

The Jay Kelly actor celebrated his milestone 65th birthday earlier this month, for which wife Amal Clooney had a slew of surprises up her sleeve.

However, though he surely enjoyed them, he now can't help but joke that he just might be too old for a shock.

Speaking with British Vogue at the King's Trust 50th Anniversary Celebration at Royal Albert Hall in London, Amal revealed she surprised George with "a number of things" for his birthday, including having friends of his, presumably at a restaurant or catered event, dress up as waiters and surprise him.

"It's a dangerous thing to surprise someone when they turn 65 because you could drop," George then joked, teasing: "You now, that could be the end of you."

"So you have to be very careful when you surprise people," he added, quipping that he is "still standing" but "barely."

Amal and George, who have been married since 2014 and are parents to twins Ella and George, who were born in 2014, also reflected about their children, George again using his usual humor when asked about his advice for the twins. "Don't mix grain and grape," he cheekily suggested, recommending his kids to (eventually…) not mix beer and wine. "I think that's important for the children to know. Don't mix the two."

Amal meanwhile added: "I think we want them to stay curious, ask lots of questions, and challenge the things that don't make sense to them, like much of what's going on in the world."

"My wife gives the elegant answer and I give the important answer," George further teased, with Amal then quipping: "...And ask your dad when it comes to drink."

George and Amal are largely based in Provence, France, where they have a farm. Speaking on the family's living situation to Esquire last year, George gushed about how "very lucky" he and Amal are, before sharing: "You know, we live on a farm in France. A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid I hated the whole idea of it. But now, for them, it's like — they're not on their iPads, you know?" George is originally from Lexington, Kentucky.

Further giving insight into the kids' life in Provence, George said: "They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life," and admitted he was "worried about raising our kids in L. A., in the culture of Hollywood."

"I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life. France — they kind of don't give a [expletive] about fame. I don't want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don't want them being compared to somebody else's famous kids," he emphasized.
