It's a huge milestone day for Kate Hudson and her family.

On Thursday, May 14, her firstborn son Ryder Robinson celebrated his graduation from New York University, for which his entire extended, and blended, family stepped out.

The Running Point actress shares the new graduate with singer Chris Robinson, to whom she was married from 2000 to 2007. She also shares son Bingham, 14, with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy, and daughter Rani Rose, seven, with fiancé Danny Fujikawa.

Following NYU's commencement ceremony, which is typically held at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, Ryder took to Instagram and shared a photo of himself and his family posing inside a suite at the stadium, all clad in purple NYU merch.

The photo featured his younger brother, who is nicknamed Bing, who also wore a cap and gown, as well as sister Rani, mom Kate, Danny, his grandmother Goldie Hawn and grandfather Kurt Russell, plus Bing's dad Matt.

Though Ryder's dad did not appear in the photo, his wife Camille Johnson, who seems to be one of the people also in the photo, did share a video of the commencement ceremony on her Instagram Stories, which Chris reposted to his own Stories.

While at NYU, Ryder reportedly studied both acting and music, following in the footsteps of both of his parents, and his mom recently shared that he had also developed an interest in furniture design.

In 2024, Kate noted it was "so hard" having him live across the country, sharing with TODAY's Willie Geist: "All you want is your kid to thrive and be happy. But, man, when I'm in L.A., and I go to the coffee machine in the morning, and I don't hear his voice, it's a big one."

Kate has also always been candid about both motherhood and co-parenting with her two exes. In a 2022 interview with the Sunday Times, she explained: "For me it's like, you loved this person. That doesn't just go away, but you can re-establish a different kind of love," maintaining: "You can have an amazing time with an ex-partner because you're really only focused on the love of your child."

The doting mom also said in 2024 that she wasn't sure whether she was done having kids, even though she has been "having children my entire adult" life. "I've got my four-year-old and I've got a kid in college. And I don't even know if I'm done yet. You know, I don't have that answer yet," she admitted at the time.

Though she said "at one point" she felt she was "done," she did add: "Then I met Danny and was like, 'Alright, I got to pump them out for him,'" and joked: "He needs a boy. He needs his own boy."
