Noah Schnapp is officially a college graduate!
The Stranger Things star, 21, graduated over the weekend from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2022, Noah enrolled at the famed Wharton School, studying entrepreneurship and innovation. The milestone came just days after attending the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of El Ser Querido (The Beloved).
He took to his Instagram with several photos from the big day, surrounded by his parents Mitchell and Karine and his twin sister Chloe, who is a popular social media personality boasting over 3 million followers across her many platforms.
"What, like it's hard???" he captioned them, referencing Elle Woods' iconic line about getting into Harvard Law in Legally Blonde. His photos garnered well over a million likes in a few hours, with his Stranger Things co-star Millie Bobby Brown's husband Jake Bongiovi among the first.
"Yay! You made it! You did it! So proud of you! Congratulations, Noah," one fan commented, with another adding: "Honest to god elle woods," and his sister gushing: "Congrats my grad!!!!!!!!"
Noah isn't the only one of the Stranger Things kids to balance their acting careers with college life either. In 2022, his close friend Millie enrolled as an online student at Purdue University. And among the older kids, Joe Keery is a graduate of DePaul University's Theatre School, Natalia Dyer has a degree from New York University, and Maya Hawke studied at Juilliard for a year before dropping out to pursue acting.
The actor actually went viral when he posted the heartwarming clip of himself and his family finding out he'd been accepted to UPenn. Speaking with Flaunt Magazine in 2022, Noah opened up about his decision to pursue business at Wharton over the obvious choice, acting.
"I was thinking of going for acting," he explained, but then reasoned: "Acting was just kind of repetitive, and I wanted to try something new."
"Millie is doing the same thing with her schooling – she's kind of learning about other things. I thought it would make more sense to do something different. And business was a pretty clear next thing for me."
He later shared with Teen Vogue why he wanted to live on campus in the dorms despite being one of the most famous teens in the world at this point. "I wanted the real experience."
"I always knew from a young age I was going to finish high school, [and] I was going to go to college. It was never really a question for me, and becoming an actor didn't really change that. So I committed to it and I'm so happy so far."
Obviously, seeing a famous face walking around the quad can be surprising, which Noah admitted to. "I know a bunch of people here and I've made a lot of friends prior to coming onto campus, so it's been a pretty easy transition."
"Obviously there's some spaces where [people are like] 'Oh my god!' but… everyone's been so kind and respectful and it's great. It kind of feels like home already," he gushed.
