Kate Hudson marked a major family milestone over the weekend as she celebrated the college graduation of her eldest son, Ryder Robinson, surrounded by some very familiar faces.
The actress, 47, took to social media to share a heartfelt tribute to her firstborn alongside a collection of candid family photographs from the celebration, which included Ryder's father, rocker Chris Robinson, as well as Kate's former fiancé Matt Bellamy.
The rare family reunion also featured Kate's famous parents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, who were on hand to celebrate the special achievement.
In an emotional post, the Almost Famous star reflected on becoming a mother at a young age and the questions that consumed her as she looked ahead to her son's future.
"I remember staring into the eyes of baby Ryder," she wrote. "I was young but unwavering as a mother. I thought I knew exactly what I was doing."
Kate went on to candidly discuss the anxieties that have accompanied her throughout motherhood, admitting she still worries about whether her children are safe, happy and making good choices.
"I've spent most of my adult life with this floating friend, anxiety," she shared. "It's a she for me. She keeps me on my mommy toes." But seeing Ryder graduate brought a sense of pride and reassurance.
"One day, you're at the college graduation of your first born," she wrote. "He is fun, vibrant, kind. His friends are all awesome and unique, none the same. He loves his family, his siblings and gosh darn it, he loves his mom."
The actress added that witnessing her son step confidently into adulthood was "the greatest comfort as a mother."
Photos from the celebrations showed Ryder surrounded by his blended family, highlighting the close relationships Kate has maintained with those who have played important roles in her life. One image captured Kate smiling alongside Chris Robinson and daughter Rani Rose, while others showed family members mingling during the festivities.
Ryder, 22, is Kate's son with The Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson. The former couple married in 2000 before separating in 2007. Kate later became engaged to Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, with whom she shares son Bingham, 13. She is now engaged to musician Danny Fujikawa, and together they share six-year-old daughter Rani.
As Ryder embarks on his next chapter, the proud mother took a moment to celebrate not only her son, but parents everywhere experiencing similar milestones.
"Here's to the graduates," she concluded, alongside a sun emoji, as fans flooded the comments with congratulations for the family's newest college graduate.
