Clint Eastwood is celebrating his 96th this Sunday, May 31, 2026.
To this day he remains an indelible Hollywood icon, thanks to roles such as "The Man with No Name" in Sergio Leone's classic Spaghetti Western trilogy, to his more recent work as a director.
Born in San Francisco, California, he's come a long way from his early days in Piedmont, California, where he got kicked out of Piedmont High School between 1945 and 1946 for writing obscenities to a school official on the athletic field scoreboard, and burning an effigy on the school lawn.

He would later transfer to Oakland Technical High School, and was scheduled to graduate mid-year in January 1949, although it's unknown if he ever did.

His yearbook photo from high school shows that early on he had those classic Hollywood good looks, with sharp cheekbones, and he wore his hair in a classic post-war quiff, along with a neat suit.
Clint appears in the above photo on the set of Francis in the Navy in 1955, his first credited movie. With his steely blue eyes, he arguably has one of the most recognizable looks in cinema.
By 1966, Clint, appearing above in the Dollars Trilogy, concluded the Spaghetti Western trilogy that made him famous with the classic movie The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, which cemented him as an icon of Hollywood. He was known for his striking physical presence on screen, in a role that required him to say very little.
Clint has welcomed eight children. He shares Morgan, 29, with his ex-wife Dina Eastwood, 60, to whom he was married from 1996 to 2014. He is also a father to Laurie Murray, 72, who he did not know existed until some years after her birth, Kymber Lynn, 60, whose mom is Roxanne Tunis, Kyle, 58, and Alison, 54, both of whom he shares with first wife Maggie Johnson, plus Scott, 40, and Kathryn, 38, both of whose mom is Jacelyn Reeves, and lastly Francesca, 32, whose mom is Frances Fisher.
Nowadays, at 96, Clint looks remarkably different — as anyone would. But his piercing gaze remains through his furrowed brow, and his cheekbones are razor sharp. He last acted in 2021 the self-directed and produced American neo-Western drama, Cry Macho. His last major public appearance was at a 2022 golf tournament in Pebble Beach, California.
